BANGALORE: The Bangalore World Water Summit organised by the Centre for sustainable development will focus on the means of providing adequate and safe water to all sections of the society and does not aim  at privatisation of water as claimed by some organisations.

In a press conference here, Dr A Ravindra, chairman of CSD, said deliberations during the summit have been designed to work towards finding solutions to issues such as meeting the demand for water and better sanitation, especially in the context of the increasing population and urbanisation.

The topics being discussed also include water resource management, ground water management, rainwater harvesting, water quality, recycling and reuse of water. He said that there were exclusive sessions to address issues relating to water conflicts and water equity.
