Electrofest 2012, a state level inter-collegiate competition was conducted by the Department of Electronics and Communication Science, DRBCCC Hindu College, on its premises in Pattabiram on March 2.  Over 600 students from 16 colleges and 15 schools across the State participated in the event.

The following colleges emerged winners in the respective events: Hindustan College of Arts and Science in project presentation, KRMM College of Arts and Science in debate and quiz competitions and Alpha College of Arts and Science in ad-zap. In the school level, Railway Mixed Higher Secondary School aced the project and          essay writing competitions, Shevalaya Matriculation Higher Secondary School in debate competition and Grace Park Convent Matriculation Higher Secondary School won the first prize in quiz competition.

Pc S Ramamurthy, manager, Man Team, Customer Services and Operations, Tata Communications, Chennai, inaugurated the event. Dr S Gunasekaran, professor and head, Physics department, Pachaiyappa’s College, founder-president, ISPA, former registrar, Periyar University, Salem, was the chief guest for the valedictory function. Dr S Kalpana Bai, principal, addressed the gathering and professor A Gopinath, assistant professor and head of ECS department, was the convener of the event.
