BANGALORE: Bangalore Metropolitan Task Force (BMTF) has the power to take action against the BBMP officials who do not take any action against unauthorised buildings.
Speaking at a workshop on Thursday, its Chief R P Sharma said BMTF can take legal action against those officials who are silent towards unauthorised constructions in Bangalore. Further, he said that when Bharath Lal Meena was the Commissioner, he gave power to the engineers to raze unauthorised buildings. The engineers did not exercise it. It can be recalled that Opposition leader M Udayshankar had said BMTF could not take action against engineers. He had also pointed out that Sharma’s house construction near Doddagubbi did not have BDA approval.
