BANGALORE: “Of the lakhs of National Service Scheme (NSS) units in our country, the ones in Karnataka are the strongest,” said Dr K S Sriprakash, Vice-Chancellor of Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences recently.

Speaking during the inauguration of a five-day NSS camp Yuvajanotsava 2012, he said, “The NSS has been instrumental in realising Mahatma Gandhi’s vision that the youth have to contribute in the upliftment of the villages.

In this regard, the NSS in the state is doing a very good job.” The camp has been organised by the National Service Scheme, Department of Youth and Services, Bangalore University and Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences.

The camp at NSS Bhavan in Jnana Bharathi campus will have various competitions, such as music, debate, painting, dance among others
