Employees go on a clean drive

Express News Service

The management and staff of a real estate firm cleaned and beautified Cunningham Road on Wednesday as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility initiative, Clean Drive.

The event was held in association with ‘Ugly Indian’, a community organisation.

The members cleaned up neighbourhood roads and the campaign went on for over three hours.

According to the press release issued on Wednesday, the aim of the participants were to give back to the society.

"Such an initiative assumed greater significance in today’s times when garbage collection in the city has suffered a major hit.

The participants hoped this would be the beginning of a new phase in Bangalore’s civic sensitiveness during the Joy of Giving Week," the release said, quoting a participant.

"It's an exciting feeling to get down and clean the roads yourself rather than sitting inside your AC office cabin and blaming the BBMP for not doing their job right.

It gave me immense satisfaction when I looked at the clean roads and I realised I did my bit too.

Around 60 of us took part in the drive," another participant said.

Ravindra Pai from the real estate firm felt that it was high time that everyone played their part in keeping the city clean.
