Men in uniform tighten security

In the view of Karnataka Bandh on Saturday, police have made elaborate bandobast arrangements across the state.

More than 65,000 policemen will be in action to avert any toward incident.

Additional Director General of Police (Law & Order) Bipin Gopalakrishna said the state police have taken all the necessary steps to ensure that the bandh is observed peacefully.

“All the district police chiefs have been directed to beef up security in sensitive areas.

More than 65,000 policemen have been deployed.

Besides, 142 platoons of KSRP, CAR and DAR police force have been pressed into service,” he said.

Also, three companies of Rapid Action Force and a few platoons of Central Para Military Force have been deployed.

Policemen have been given cameras to videograph the protest so that they could take action against the agitators if any untoward incident takes place.
