NSS camp to spread awareness

Sri Venkateshwara Matriculation Higher Secondary School and Buvana Krishnan Matriculation Higher Secondary School conducted an annual NSS camp recently at Kelambakkam. The camp was inaugurated by the correspondent, advisor and PTA president. The students actively participated in various awareness programmes on AIDS, prohibition of drug abuse and ban on plastics during the camp. They organised a medical camp, along with a team from Chettinad Hospital, at Rural Development Trust at Egattur in Kelambakkam and planted 500 trees in Thaiyur.

The students also visited a school for the children of construction workers where they conducted an orientation programme and games for the students and distributed prizes. The District Liasion Officer of Chennai and Kancheepuram district visited the camp and appreciated the efforts of the students.
