For collectors of old books, scholars looking for references and book lovers in general, an exhibition of rare and out of print books will be held by Select Bookstore from October 17 to 21 at the Lady Jehangir Kothari Memorial Hall, near Vidhan Soudha.

In keeping with the tradition this year too, the store will host a series of talks, an exhibition of paintings by new artists supported by Shivananda Basavanthappa, programme and exhibition officer of the NGMA, Bangalore, a sitar recital by Ustad Hafiz Khan and classical dance (Bharatanatyam and Kathak) by students of the Antara Artists Collective. The artists exhibiting are Shivananda Basavanthappa (Bangalore), Annaraya S Hangargi (Gulbarga), Niranjan Ganapati Hosmane (Bangalore), Santosh Rathod (Gulbarga), Muralidhar Rathid (Bangalore),  Krishnamurthy Y D (Dharwad), Satihal (Sindhanoor), Shivakumar (Mysore), Lakshmi (Bangalore), Uday Jain (Davangere) and Sreekar Balasubramanyam (Bangalore). 

To commemorate this event, a volume of letters and articles covering the history of the book shop will also be released.
