Bar girls' rape: 9 arrested

Express News Service

The Ramnagaram police say they have cracked the gang-rape case of three bar girls last Friday. They have arrested nine people, including a woman, in this connection.

The prime accused, Girish (19) a PUC dropout, was residing on the first floor of the house where the victims were staying in Kengeri. The police said Girish planned the crime, but he was not present at the scene of crime.

The police have also arrested Sudha (28), a beautician who was close to one of the accused. The five girls who were abducted by the gang were taken to Sudha’s house. The police are also on the look-out for four others.

The police said, “Girish had watched the bar girls’ movements and planned to rob them. He told some of his friends about his plan and they roped in their friends. In the wee hours of Friday, they barged into the house, robbed the girls, and raped three of them. They took five girls to Sudha’s house at Srigandhada Kaval near Sunkadakatte. There they allegedly tried to rape one of them, but could not. Later, all the girls were left near Beggars Colony.”
