Lokayukta raids on KSPCB

The Lokayukta police on Saturday raided 14 regional offices of the Karnataka State Pollution Control Board at Basaveshwarnagar, Peenya and on Church Street on complaints of corruption.

During the course of raid, the police found Rs 5 lakh of unaccounted cash at Environmental officer Gurumurthy’s office, Rs 3 lakh in the drawer of Diwakar, a clerk at KSPCB, Rs 58,000 in the office of M N Jayaprakash, Chief Environmental Officer and Rs 42,500 in a peon’s cabin.

The office chambers of KSPCB chairman A S Sadashiva were also being searched.
