Sethu Bhaskara MHS School has started an Eco Club and a National Green Corps Unit, in which students engage in various activities to create an eco-friendly environment. The school has launched a Go Green Unit, where waste is recycled and used.

This year the school decided to celebrate International Ozone Day in an effective manner and organised a signature campaign on September 15. Images and slogans advocating a clean and green environment were imprinted on a white banner by 7,000 students, 350 staff members and parents.

The function was presided over by Vanitha, Assistant Engineer, TN Pollution Control Board, who started the campaign. Placards calling for protection of the planet by growing more trees, preventing deforestation and putting a stop to the usage of plastic were displayed. Chief guest Vanitha in her speech explained the means of preventing the depletion of the ozone layer. The banner was then displayed outside the school campus to be viewed by the public.

Another part in this venture is to project the ban of plastics in any form. Speeches will be made on recycling and reuse of papers and advocating the reduction of usage of paper, as it involves cutting down of trees.
