Express News Service

If watching an artist as he brings alive his thoughts on canvas has been on your to-do list for a while now, then you are in for a treat.

A group of artists from Chennai will showcase the know-how of art live for three days at Galerie De’Arts on MG Road.

The three-day art camp titled Of Masters and Heroes will be curated by Vidya Gnana Gouresan from Singapore.

The artists will create two canvases of a theme of their choice at the gallery premises. The viewers can not only witness the painting being created live but can also interact with the artists about the technique and style of their works.

Artists A Viswam , P Gnana, N S Manoharan, M Jayakumar and C Dakshinamurthy will paint live for the audience and also explain the nuances of the art.

Says Deepa Subramanian from the gallery, “We are happy to have these guests from Chennai.

This city of culture and history stands out as iconic in its stature, spirit and style. The instinctive hold of deeper traditional values and modern thinking of the highly academic people of Chennai has helped them evolve a distinct approach to art.”

Talking about the artistes, Vidya Gnana Gouresan, the art curator says,“The modern masters in this exhibition are C Dakshinamoorthy, and P Perumal, while A Viswam, N Manoharan, and P Gnana form an exceptional trio from the extensive, debatable chronology of Post-Independence and Post-Modernism.”

When: December 6-8 from 11 am - 7 pm. A special preview and interaction with the artists will take place on December 7, 4 pm onwards

Venue : Galerie De’Arts, 11th floor, Barton Centre, MG Road.
