BEd exams on schedule, says BU V-C

Express News Service

With three days remaining for the BEd examinations to commence and the affiliation of 47 colleges undecided, BU V-C B Thimme Gowda said the Varsity will go ahead with examinations as scheduled.

“We have informed colleges that their students can write the examinations at their own risk. I have written to the government many times seeking a clear stand on the affiliation status. But from our end, this chapter is closed,” he told Express.

The BU Syndicate on May 17 resolved to renew the affiliation of colleges that have been blacklisted for academic irregularities ‘in the interest of students’. The Department of Higher Education is yet to approve the renewal of affiliation. The BEd examination schedule is running behind by more than a month. The exams were originally scheduled to start on April 23, and was postponed to May 23, then June 5 and now for June 10.

“This year onwards, we want to streamline the way teachers’ education functions,” Gowda added.
