Spiritual truths form the core of life

Shri Nimishananda Guruji

Shri Nimishananda Guruji said, “This creates an energy loop. When you prostrate at their feet, a part of your negative karma goes to God or your Guru and gets dissolved.

"Their grace flows into you. When you cross your feet, this is retained and keeps circulating within in a continuous loop charging you with divine energy. This divine energy dissolves more karma and purifies you. There is no norm about how to cross your feet. Any foot can be crossed over the other.”

Bharathi asked, “Pujya Guruji, the way men prostrate is different from the way women do. Men lie face down on the ground so that their entire body touches the floor when they do the sashtanga namaskar. Why is this so? “

Shri Nimishananda Guruji said, “In a man’s body the nabhi (navel) is the entry point for energy from mother earth. When they do the sashtanga namaskar, the navel touches the ground and absorbs the divine vibrations inherent in sacred places like temples and ashrams. Men also bare their torsos in temples for the same reason. Then divine energy is more easily absorbed through the heart chakra (vortice) and solar plexus.

For women, the navel should always be covered and should not touch the ground, as otherwise the womb loses its strength. So the way they prostrate is different.”

You walk the talk and divine facts become the truth in you. Venkatram said, “If we talk about the truths taught by the scriptures, nobody listens. But when you talk to people, they listen to you spellbound, Pujya Guruji.”

Shri Nimishananda Guruji said, “Have you tried writing with a pen refill or a pencil lead? It is very difficult to write with these for a long time because you can’t grip them firmly. But if the refill is put into a pen, writing is smooth and easy as it offers a good grip. Likewise, spiritual truths should form the core of our life. They should be enshrined in the very fabric of our existence. Then you don’t even have to talk to people. Your very presence makes an incredible impact on them.

"When you don’t completely practice what you are talking about, your words don’t linger in the minds of people. Like the water in a swiftly flowing river, they are heard for a moment and are then borne away by the tide of distractions."

Guruji added, "When the truths that you talk about are an intrinsic part of your life, they are like water stored in a dam. This water is always available whenever the need arises and can be used in a hundred different ways.”

Venkatram said,  “Educated people understand the concepts of spirituality, but others don’t.”
