I was shocked at first when my wife apprised me about my son’s interest in Katie. Mine was a love marriage and I am so happy. I trust my son and I know, he would have made the right choice.

Senior actor and politician Jaggesh’s son Guru Raj, who has acted in flicks like Gilli and Sankranti, is all set for a fairy  tale wedding in April. The doting father revealed the marriage plans of his son with his new found love, Katie Pyle from Holland.

“Meeting Katie, I felt she was like an angel who is set to enter our family,” says Jaggesh who put to rest the continuing speculations about his son’s wedding. The ceremony will be held on April 24, Jaggesh told City Express, stressing that his son and Katie were in love and had known each other for the past three years. Katie’s family too is happy with this relationship. “I am a big fan of Rajkumar, so we are organising the wedding on his birthday. It will take  place in London as Katie’s 94-year-old grandmother cannot travel. But we will have another function in Mantrayala, followed by a huge reception in May. Katie is a researcher in London but she will quit her job  to settle in India,” the veteran actor reveals.

Throwing more light on the hush-hush romance of his son and Katie, Jaggesh  says, “Katie, basically of German origin, is a pampered child whose grandparents fled Hitler’s Germany and settled down in Holland. Her father is an oil researcher while her mother, an English teacher. Fate brought her to Thailand where she was  training in kick boxing. Guru Raj was also there at the same time to learn the sport. Their wave lengths matched and they fell in love,” he explains.

Initially, Jaggesh was apprehensive about his son’s decision but later realised that there was nothing wrong in such a relationship. “I was shocked when my wife apprised me about my son’s interest in Katie. Later, my in-laws and the entire family convinced me.  Mine was a love marriage and I am so happy. I trust my son and I know, he would have made the right choice. He is 26 and I didn’t want to postpone his wedding any  further. He was so happy, when I agreed to the relationship,” he says.

Apparently, Katie’s family is hopping from one Indian store to another to dress up in traditional Indian regalia. “It seems that they are learning how to wear a saree and therefore, are busy shopping for traditional clothes. Katie’s father who is also a good astrologer mentioned that the couple’s bonding will be for life and even I felt so,” Jaggesh says.

An excited Guru Raj signs off with, “Thank God, my parents are broad-minded. Initially, I was apprehensive about telling them because I didn’t know how my father would react. His acceptance is definitely a big plus for our relationship.”
