Journalist Dies of Pool Injuries

BANGALORE: N R Madhusudhan, a journalist who was always willing to go the extra mile to get all sides of a story, is no more.

Madhu, as he was known among his colleagues at The New Indian Express, died at a private hospital in Bangalore late on Sunday. He was as a senior reporter for the paper’s Bangalore edition. Madhu (41) had sustained severe neck and spinal cord injuries after he took a dive at a swimming pool in Mahalakshmi Layout on May 15. He underwent a surgery and was in the hospital’s intensive care unit for 17 days.

He is survived by his mother, wife and a three-and-a-half-year-old daughter. The last rites were conducted in Bangalore on Monday evening.

The Bangalore Reporters Guild has condoled Madhu’s death.
