History-sheeters Bludgeoned

BANGALORE: Two history-sheeters were bludgeoned to death by their friends in a drunken brawl at a convention hall in Byadarahalli on Magadi Road in the early hours of Sunday.

The deceased have been identified as Suresh Babu alias Kuruda Suresh(28), a resident of Gangondahalli and Firoz Babu alias Matti Babu (26)  of Rajagopalnagar. They were listed as history-sheeters in Rajagopalnagar police station.

The police said the incident took place around 2.30 am. Suresh, Babu and their friends had gone to Heritage Convention Hall at Tunganagar near Byadarahalli to attend a wedding reception. Meanwhile, Guru, a relative of the couple, was playing cards in a room along with his friends.

Suresh, Babu and two others reportedly entered the room and demanded money from Guru.

An altercation ensued after which Guru and his friends attacked the gang and dragged them out of the hall. They bludgeoned them with hollow bricks and fled the scene.

Locals who noticed the incident alerted the police, who then rushed to the spot and nabbed Guru while the others absconded.

Suresh, a native of Bijapur, was working as a welder and Babu was working as a used vehicle broker. Both were involved in various criminal activities in and around the city. 

Tavarekere police are investigating in this connection.

Meanwhile, a 22-year-old rowdy-sheeter was chased and hacked to death by a gang of about 12 people near Amruth Wines in Wilson Garden police station limits on Sunday.

Police said Srinivas was was involved in the murder of one Gate Ganesh in 2009. People who witnessed the incident, rushed him to a close by private hospital but doctors pronounced him brought dead.

Police have registered a case under Section 302 and are investigating.

No arrests have been made so far.
