Lyricist Arasu Anthare, who is putting on the director’s hat for the first time for Love in Mandya, is determined to entertain the audience by hitting high notes with the songs.
Being a lyricist, he has penned all five songs in the film, and among them is a spicy number which goes ‘Current hoda timali hudugi idlu maglali’. The song features Ninasam Satish and Sindhu Loknath.
Explaining the situation of the song, Arasu says, “This song comes when the lovers get married and spend their first night together. We had made a set at the cost of `20 lakh for the song. The audio had come out so well that producer Uday K Mehta didn’t mind spending so much. Secondly, Anoop Seelin has scored the music for this hot number that has added more spice to the song,” says the director.
Arasu has kept the film simple and entertaining. It is the love story of a cable operator and a middle class girl who travel to Tamil Nadu and face the biggest twist of their lives.
He says, “The interesting part is that this love story has ample entertainment.”
Love in Mandya will also be a challenging film for Satish, as two of his previous films have not done well. Arasu feels Satish will be back in the limelight with this film.
“The problem is that Satish’s last two films after Lucia were remakes, which did not bring the nativity factor to the film or to his character. This being a straight subject, he has played his character very well in the film,” says Arasu.
Love in Mandya is now at the dubbing stage and will be released in July.
