Student Creates New Record in Vajrasana

Express News Service

TIRUCHY: Sujith Srinvas, a Class 3 student of Kamakoti Vidyalaya, created a record by performing Vajrasana in neck-deep water for one hour and 14 minutes.

“It is incredible to perform Vajrasana within six months of yoga practice. One should have inner strength and patience to perform yoga in neck-deep water,” said Muthukumar, Sujith’s yoga master.

“He does not know swimming. But he immediately agreed when his master asked if anyone could create a new record. He practised yoga only for two months, and we are happy that he could create a record at this age,” said his father, Jambulingam.

“Sujith broke the record of Mobi Jonet of Belagavi in Karnataka, who performed Vajrasana in neck-deep water for one hour in October 2009.

A video recording of Sujith’s Vajrasana with witnesses from the jury and others will be sent to India Book of Records, Assist World Records and others,” the jury of the record said.

Sujith thanked his parents, yoga master and his school teachers who gave him permission to do this.
