After Deal Day, Flipkart Apologises

Express News Service

BANGALORE: A day after the Big Billion Day sale by online retailer Flipkart, company founders Sachin and Binny Bansal have apologised to customers for price disparities and out-of-stock messages on the website.

In an email, they said Flipkart reached its sales target of $100 million within 10 hours on Monday. However, several users were left fuming at errors in orders as well as out-of-stock messages.

They said the experience for many was ‘less than pleasant’. “We did not live up to the promises we made and for that we are really sorry,” they said. They admitted that the company had not stocked enough products to deal with the high volume of orders.
