'Revise Evaluation System in Schools'

Express News Service

BANGALORE: The Students’ and Parents’ Association (SPA) on Saturday demanded that the Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) system, introduced in schools, be revised.

“The system should aim at reducing the burden on students. But it just adds to pressure on them,” said Veeresh Karmarkar, adviser, SPA.

He said that the number of projects should be reduced. Presenting a list of their demands, he said the government should frame unbiased policies.

“The government should give scholarships on the basis of performance and financial status, not on the basis of caste or religion,” he added.

The demands will be be presented to the officials of the Education Department soon, the association said.
