BENGALURU:The High Court on Wednesday quashed the preliminary notification issued by the Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) in 2008 to acquire 3,546 acres for formation of the Dr Shivarama Karanth Layout.
The BDA had issued the notification for acquisition of the land between Doddballapur and Hessaraghatta road for formation of 19,000 sites in the proposed Layout. The court was hearing a petition filed by one B Byathappa and others. The petitioners contended that the preliminary notification was issued after a lapse of over six years. Due to non-implementation of the plan, the scheme had lapsed, they contended.
