Illness Pushes Constable to Suicide

BENGALURU:   Upset over his severe illness, a 54-year-old police head constable ended his life by hanging at the police quarters in Rajajinagar on Friday.

The family of the deceased told the police that he was depressed after doctors told him that he might have to amputate his hand.

The deceased, Mayanna K M, was attached to the Banasawadi A police station. He was living with his wife, two daughters and a son in the quarters.

Mayanna was hospitalised for a few days following a fever, and during the treatment, one of his hands developed a swelling. After that the doctors then told him that he might lose his hand.
