BENGALURU: Global Positioning Systems (GPS) will be installed in 6,500 BMTC buses in Bengaluru.
Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy told reporters on Saturday, “BMTC buses will be equipped with GPS system which will give real-time status of buses that are operating.”
“As pilot project, ETM (Electronic Ticket Monitoring) system will be introduced on 1,000 buses next month. to issue tickets and collect money from passengers. BMTC is also thinking about launching a mobile application that will inform the public about bus arrival timings and status,” he added.
