Express News Service

BENGALURU: Reserve Bank of India (RBI) ombudsman C R Samyukta said that during 2014-15, it received 4,673 complaints as opposed to 4,221 in 2012-14, indicating an increase of 10.7 per cent.

She was speaking at a press interaction organised to discuss the annual report of the office for 2014-15 in the city on Monday.

Of the total complaints, 82.4 per cent were from metropolitan and urban centres, indicating the lack of awareness of the Banking Ombudsman Scheme (BOS) in rural areas. “To address this, awareness programmes were conducted in Hassan and Shivamogga, while many such activities have been planned in tier-3 cities,” she said.
