KVs Seek Parents' Opinion on Changing Uniform

Express News Service

BENGALURU:  The uniforms at Kendriya Vidyalayas across the nation will be changed soon. With an idea of revising the existing uniforms, the schools are collecting opinions from parents and other stakeholders.

The KVs in the state are also gathering opinion and suggestions from parents by sending them circular and asking them to send their feedback about the existing uniform and what colour or pattern they would suggest.

“We have received a circular from the school seeking our opinion about the existing uniform and also asked for our suggestion and we have responded,” said a parent of a student of a Kendriya Vidyalaya in Hebbal.

Another parent working with the High Court and sending her ward to a KV school in Malleswaram said, “Yes, we had received a circular but it is particularly about the uniform. They have asked us about change in the logo printed on the uniform and we have given our suggestions.”

Sources from KV Sangathan told Express, “A decision on changing the uniform has not been taken yet. Discussions are still going on and parents opinions are being collected.”

The uniforms at KVs were changed during the 2012-13 academic year as part of their golden jubilee celebration and they were designed by the National Institute of Fashion Technology, New Delhi.

KV Sangathan is running over 850 schools across the nation and abroad with over 10.7 lakh students. These schools normally have two sets of uniforms, one for the winter and one for summer.

Apart from this they also have sports wear.
