Hundi Goes Digital

Donations have gone digital at the 79th music festival. Other than the large steel hundis in the tent, posters with the Paytm code for the festival is hung around and is called ‘Digital Hundi.’

Fan Moment
Fans of great musicians do not hesitate to show their appreciation for the artists. After every concert, they wait outside the tent eager to share a few words of appreciation to the artists. 30 year old Arjun B says “I don’t mind waiting for as long as possible.” A painting was presented by a fan to the Mysore Brothers.

Mood Swings
The jugalbandhi concert of Pravin Godhkhindi  and Kala Ramanathan had a delayed start. A drop in the mood was noticeable. However, Pravin won the crowd over later.

Musician does a standup
As the soundcheck took place, renowned musician Pravin Godkhindi cracked a few jokes to lighten the air. “ 1,2,3 Check.Cash.DD. Everything will be accepted.” The audience immediately burst into laughter. Few chuckles were heard as he thanked the audience for coming despite the IPL season

Stealing Air
Fifty-four-year old Swapna Rai very noticeably mirrored the movements of her neighbour. “It’s very hot and I forgot to bring my own fan.” she said slyly stealing the cool air from her neighbors paper fan.

Bats Joined in
As the musician begins, a pin drop silence falls over the tent. In between the rasas quiet clicks of the bats hanging in the trees outside the tent are heard. “They’re also appreciating the music.” Pranav M says chuckling.
