BENGALURU: Soak in the forest or play amidst the green, here are a few childrens’ playgrounds in the city

Nandavana Children’s Park, Jayanagar

Known to be city’s first hi-tech children’s playground opened in 2012 attracts many children with its 14 play equipment imported from Korea and Austria. Musical fountain that gets lit at 7pm is one of the main attractions of the park.

Managed by the BBMP, the entry fee is just Rs 5 and only children a

re allowed in the park.

Timings: 9 am – 1 pm and 4 pm – 8:30 pm

Jawahar Bal Bhavan, Cubbon Park

The playground situated on the premises of the Cubbon Park spreads across 12.5 acres land. Besides carnival rides, the park has boating facilities and toy trains.

Timings: 10 am – 6 pm (Closed on Mondays and second Tuesdays of every month)

JP Park, Mathikere

The Jayaprakash Narayana Park in Mathikere houses a spacious park that divides the area into three sections. While two are playgrounds with variety of play equipment, the third one is a space for sport activities such as badminton and volleyball.  A small rock garden, with steps and seating made of broken glass pieces is a major attraction.

Timings: 5 am – 8:30 am and 5 pm – 8:30 pm (Closed on Wednesdays)

Mini Forest Children’s Park,J P Nagar

A green space east of Bannerghatta Road and behind Gopalan mall is divided into 3 separate parks, one of which is for children’s play area. The other two sections are dense green spaces with a good number of benches to lounge around.

Timings: 5:30 am – 10 pm and 4:30 pm – 8:30 pm
