BENGALURU/ CHIKKAMAGALURU: Chikkamagaluru police on Thursday arrested a Bengaluru-based techie on the charges of uploading a porn video of his former girlfriend on a sex site. The accused Hemanth was in a live-in relationship with the girl, who is an engineering student.

Hemanth, 29, who is a native of Tarikere, is a software engineer working in a private company in Manyata Tech Park in Bengaluru.

The girl, who hails from Chikkamagaluru district, had filed a case with the police recently against Hemanth. Hemanth had met her when she was studying engineering in a private college. Soon they entered into a relationship.

They began to stay together and Hemanth had promised that he would marry her. A few months ago they separated due to some differences.  However, during their relationship Hemanth had video-graphed their sexual acts. The girl claimed that over the past few months, he began to blackmail her, forcing her to change her college and shift to Chikkamagaluru.

A police officer from Chikkamagaluru told Express that during investigations they found that the video was recorded by Hemanth two years ago. But he uploaded it on a porn site two weeks ago and informed the girl.

The girl immediately approached the police. A police team from Chikkamagaluru arrived in Bengaluru and nabbed Hemanth from his office. During interrogation, he confessed to the crime. Hemanth was remanded in judicial custody.  Strangely, police sources also said that they tried to bring about a patch-up between the two as Hemanth sought to reconcile with the girl. The girl stoutly refused.
