BENGALURU: Amidst allegations against jail officials for providing special treatment to AIADMK chief Sasikala, the New Indian Express has managed to get a video grab from the jail, confirming the same.

In the video, Sasikala was seen wearing plain clothes accompanied by an assistant and a woman police personnel. However, TNIE could not independently verify the sanctity of the video.

Former DIG (prisons) D Roopa in her report had said that Sasikala was provided special treatment inside the jail and had alleged that the DGP prisons had received Rs 2 crore for providing such facility including a separate kitchen.

“The inmates alleged that Sasikala’s cell is covered with a white cloth which hides the facilities provided to Sasikala. A yoga mat, chair, place to relax, cooker and stove has been provided, an inmate alleged. Roopa also had alleged the same in her report.
