Teenage boys arrested for molesting a Class VI girl in Bengaluru

BENGALURU: Four teenage boys who allegedly molested a 11-year-old girl in Bengaluru were arrested by police today.

Although the incident happened on July 10, it came to light only after the police started making arrests of suspects on Wednesday.

Three boys were arrested on Wednesday. However, the prime suspect was nabbed in Hubballi today.

The police said the accused were all aged between 14 and 16 years. They were students of a government school in Ramamurthynagar.

The girl, who is a sixth standard student in another government school was returning home at around 4 pm on July 10, when the six boys dragged her to an isolated place in Vijinapura and reportedly molested her. The prime suspect reportedly assaulted her when she raised an alarm.

The girl, after reaching home, narrated the incident to her mother, who works as a helper in a private company. Her mother then informed the police, who filed a case.

The three, who were arrested on Wednesday, was sent to a juvenile home in the Bengaluru.

The main accused was arrested in Hubbali and brought to Bengaluru today, the police said.

Two other suspects are still at large.
