BENGALURU: Three Pakistani nationals, who were illegally staying in city for past nine months, were supported by Kasim Pasha, an uncle of the Kerala man who was arrested with the trio.

Police said Pasha had asked Mohammad Shihab (30) of Kerala to bring Sameera (25), a native of Karachi, to India. Pasha had also transferred money to Sameera’s account from Kerala. Sameera’s relatives Kiron Ghulam Ali and Qasib Shamsuddin were also arrested.

A police officer said that they have not been found involved in any criminal activities. “We are gathering information from intelligence officials to find if they had stayed illegally in other places before reaching Bengaluru. It appears they travelled from Qatar to India via Kathmandu and did not stay at a place for long,” said the officer.

A team of Intelligence Bureau (IB) also joined the probe. “We suspect that some more people might have helped them reach India. We might send a team to Qatar if required,” said an officer.
