BENGALURU: Hundreds of enthusiasts cycled across Bengaluru’s streets on Sunday to raise awareness on the Sakala Mission, the state government programme launched in 2012 to ensure time-bound delivery of government services.
They were part of a cyclathon organised by the Department of Personal and Administrative Reforms.
Participants pedalled from Kanteerava Stadium via Kasturba Road and then headed back to Kanteerava Stadium. Speaking after the event, K Mathai, administrator, Sakala Mission, said that the event was organised in association with cycling groups in the city. “Corruption is rampant in many government offices. Under Sakala, 765 services offered by 63 government departments across the state are covered. We want more people using it to avail it and hence the event,” he added.Mathai said that this comes after several reforms took place within the department itself.
