BENGALURU: A 35-year-old woman was bludgeoned to death by her husband after she refused to give him Rs 30 to buy alcohol. The incident took place in Soladevanahalli on Thursday night. The accused Raja Singh, a daily wager, has been arrested. The deceased Kasthri and Raja Singh were married for ten years. The couple hail from Madhya Pradesh and were working in an under-construction apartment in Chikkasandra Layout.
A senior police officer said, “Singh, who did not go to work for three days, on Thursday, asked Kasturi to give him Rs 30 to buy alcohol. As she refused to give the money, he started a fight. She then gave him `20. Upset over this, Singh attacked her with a brick and hit her in the head. Kasturi’s sister-in-law who noticed the incident rushed to her rescue. He also attacked her before escaping.
Kasturi was rushed to a hospital where she was declared brought dead. The residents who came to know about the incident alerted Soladevanahalli police who nabbed Singh within two hours and handed him to judicial custody.
