CHENNAI: The cyber crime cell of the CB CID on Tuesday filed a charge-sheet of 900 pages, including statements of witnesses, against the accused A Shankar, special assistant, confidential branch of the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) in connection with a case of transcript of the alleged telephonic conversation between the former chief secretary to government and former director, DVAC, which was leaked to an English daily, in the court of II Metropolitan Magistrate, Egmore.

A total of 58 witnesses and 67 documents, including nine computer/mobile forensic lab reports, were cited as evidence on behalf of the prosecution.

It is said the accused Shankar, who joined as a junior assistant in V & AC on compassionate grounds in the year 1991 and subsequently promoted to the post of special assistant in the confidential branch of the DVAC committed the crime on account of his frustration and grievances in certain administrative matters.
