CHENNAI: Paying rich tributes to freedom fighter, member of the Constituent Assembly and former Union Minister OV Alagesan, Governor K Rosaiah said the ideals of the great son of the soil should be emulated who dedicated his life for the nation’s progress.
Speaking at the centenary celebrations of the leader here on Friday, he hailed Alagesan as a selfless man who never hankered after power which was typical of leaders who fought for the country’s freedom. During the days of freedom struggle, leaders like Alagesan competed with one another to make sacrifices and go to jail for the country’s good.
Union Shipping Minister G K Vasan recalled the yeoman services of Alagesan as a Central minister. The ICF at Perambur and the Kalpakkam Atomic Plant were among the contributions of Alagesan.
