CHENNAI: How about spending three hours in a spaceship in the absence of the bustling traffic and the scorching heat? And you also get to watch a 3D movie and munch hot popcorn. Would you say no?

Abirami Mega Mall, once again surprises its audiences by introducing another innovative cinema hall — Robot Bala Abirami. On Sunday, Abirami Mega Mall occupied more than 200 people in a well-structured spaceship. The occasion was graced by Producers Council President Ramanaryanan and producer Alagappan.

Speaking on the occasion, Nallammai Ramanathan, executive director of Abirami Mega Mall said, “After launching different themes like Chinese, Egyptian and Spanish, we wanted to do something unique and futuristic. We always associate future with Robots and spaceship and hence, we were inspired and brought the robots to Chennai.”

Inspired by the films, StarWars and 2012, the well-designed Robot theatre opens to a large room of 290-seater with specially made recliner seats. Completed in a span of 60 days, the entire theatre is made up of fibre glass that looks as strong as steel. Planets, twinkling stars and satellites placed on the ceiling will transport one to a moving spaceship. The theatre will screen 3D movies and other language films too. The other facilities provided in the spaceship theatre include pick up and drop in a limousine, pre-paid auto service and waiter on call to serve you snacks, all in just `120.

On a closing note, Ramanathan said, “We hope that we will continue to receive a warm response from our discerning audience who will appreciate our efforts in future as well.”

And now that we have Robot Theatre opening its door to all movie-lovers in Chennai, there is no need to wait for a special occasion to watch your favourite movie.
