CHENNAI: A Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) team from Kerala, on Sunday, raided the office of a television music channel in Triplicane, owned by lottery king Santiago Martin. The investigating agency had filed a complaint against Martin and his associate John Kennedy in four different cases relating to sale of lottery tickets in Kerala. Martin was recently arrested in Tamil Nadu in connection with a land grabbing case.

Sources said that the CBI raided the office of S S Music in Triplicane and a few other premises owned by Martin and his associates.  Martin is the official wholesaler of Bhutan Lottery in Kerala, while Kennedy is the official of Megha Distributors, the agent for Bhutan Lottery.

Last November, police in Thiruvananthapuram had registered a case against the duo, both hailing from the northeastern region, after it was found that the Bhutan Lottery tickets neither had a secret code nor an official seal. The CBI filed its FIR at the Ernakulam Chief Judicial Magistrate court after Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, on June 18, requested the Centre to sanction a probe as the issue involved other states and Bhutan as well.
