REC and Bosch sign MoU

Rajalakshmi Engineering College and Bosch Limited have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to set up a joint Certification Training Centre on the Rajalakshmi Engineering College campus at Thandalam.

The training centre will be equipped with state-of-the-art Bosch equipment to impart various technical training programmes in the automotive sector. Located strategically in the automobile manufacturing hub of Chennai, the centre would cater not only to the training needs of students of various technical institutions, but also to the various skill requirements of employees working in the Industrial hub.

Speaking on the occasion, D Shanmugavel, business manager, Bosch emphasised the need for closer interaction between the industry and the academia to bridge the existing technology gap. He also expressed his confidence that the Certification Centre would play a vital role in addressing the skill shortage in the automotive sector.

Speaking at the event, Thangam Meganathan, chairperson, Rajalakshmi Engineering College welcomed Bosch’s initiative to bring latest technology in automotives to the doorstep of technical institutions in the country. She expressed hope that the centre would help young students be prepared in a better way to meet the industry requirements.
