‘Meditation makes for a good start’

Sonali Shenoy

Understanding of god

My perception of god is that all living things on the earth revolve around this supreme power called almighty, who is omnipresent and omnipotent.

Spiritual beliefs

Spirituality is more than religion. The word ‘bharat’, which spells a feeling of oneness, is the result of spirituality among our ancestors. This has been passed down to one generation after the next to benefit those in the future.

Spiritual practices

I ensure that I do a daily puja every morning. This is followed by meditation where I like to sit quietly and think. It keeps me fresh and always makes for a good start to my day.

Pilgrimage sites

I have seen almost all the prominent pilgrimage centres all over India, except for Kailash. This is one place that I have had in mind for a while and intend to visit it shortly.

Miracles

I shall never forget the miracle my spiritual guru Bangaru Adigalar of Melmaruvathur Aadhiparasakthi Peedam performed on my 18-year-old daughter. My daughter was suffering from night blindness and the doctors who attended to her came to the conclusion that she would lose her eye sight completely. But my guru gave me some simple medicinal remedies, which  cured her almost completely of the disease. My daughter is now 38 years old and is fine.
