Students in Chennai can look forward to a week of vrooming miniature F1 cars, automated humanoid robots playing ‘futbol’ and designing futuristic hydrogen fuel cell powered green cars as Robotix Learning Solutions, in association with Meritus Mynd Works, announced a 3 day, 10 event, Indian Robotix League 2013.
The competition, which will be held at the Bala Vidya Mandir in Adyar during the last week of December, is open to all students from grade 4-11.
“The response we’ve seen to events like Humanoid Football, Smart FX Racing and Destination Zero Carbon has been tremendous,” said A S Ramana Prasad, Chairman, Robotix Learning Solutions, “We have had students registering from all over the south like Coimbatore, Madurai, Theni, Tirunelveli etc.”
And Indian Racer, Armaan Ebrahim, who was present at the press conference and the launch of the logo for IRL 2013, said he was excited to be associated with the event. “I’m fascinated by the talent these students displayed last year. We need to encourage young talent in this sport to put us on the world map,” he added.
S S Nathan, CEO of Bala Vidya Mandir Global, also announced that as a CSR initiative they would be conducting a program, in collaboration with Ability Foundation, where every summer 10 differently abled children would be trained in Robotics and Autonomous Systems.
