‘Cricket scandal’ ahead of IPL

TV anchor-turned-director Rose Venkatesan, whose debut film venture Cricket Scandal is on the verge of completion, said she has planned to release the film just before the next season of Indian Premier League, the biggest T20 cricket series that will begin in April.

TV anchor-turned-director Rose Venkatesan, whose debut film venture Cricket Scandal is on the verge of completion, said she has planned to release the film just before the next season of Indian Premier League, the biggest T20 cricket series that will begin in April. This is the first feature film in India to have been directed by a transgender. According to Rose, the film will reveal the darker side of the cricket world to people. Rose has  played a club dancer in the film and her friendship with Chennai Cricket team’s captain (played by a newcomer Kishan)    helps her to know the scandals behind the nation’s biggest game. Meanwhile, Kishan falls in love with Rose and what happens to their relationship will be an interesting climax. Rose said she did research on the subject before making it into a film and added she didn’t receive threats of any kind. Though the film has been made in English, Rose has planned to release it in both Tamil and Telugu.
