Man wanted in 3 murder cases nabbed

A history-sheeter, wanted for 3 murders and in a bomb-hurling case, was arrested by the Anti-Gangsters Team led by Additional DC S Jayakumar.

Sources said ‘Kuthirai’ Venkatesan earned his moniker because he was also into racing, for which he raised two horses at his residence.

A resident of Manali, he first killed Gummidipoondi chairman Kandasamy at Sathiyavedu in Andhra Pradesh a decade ago. Subsequently, he murdered Steel Kai Thomas.

In 2008, he was arrested from Kodungaiyur, from where a country-made gun with 6 live rounds were seized. In 2009, when cops surrounded him in a house in Kodungaiyur, he threw a country-made bomb on the police inspector who was leading the force. Fortunately, the bomb did not go off.

Killer Woman Held

A 30-year-old woman was arrested for allegedly killing her live-in partner with the help of his family and another lover, here on Monday. Her mother and her brothers were also arrested for the murder.

According to police Jayanthi (30), a resident of New Washermenpet, who had been living with Abbas, (29), a fisherman from Kasimedu, decided to kill the latter since he objected to the former’s recent affair with one Kalaimani.
