Handicrafts from MP at city expo

A handicrafts exhibition of the Madhya Pradesh Government ‘Mrignaynee’ was inaugurated by Harmander Singh, Principal secretary to the Handlooms, Handicrafts, Textile and Khadhi department, Tamil Nadu Government, in the city on Friday.

A variety of handicrafts from jute bags, brass and bronze figurines  and stone beach craft jewellery to printed dress materials such as maheshwari, chanderi, kosa (tussar) sarees and vegetable dye-Bagh prints are on display and available for a price range starting from just Rs 150.

“All products are selling equally as it’s the first day,” says the cashier.

From young to old, the products always have takers. Siddharthi and her friend find the different color combinations and the designs refreshing from the usual.

The  exhibition is open till July 31 at Sri Sankara Hall, TTK road, Alwarpet.
