Premium footwear brand Ruosh announced its entry into Chennai with the opening of its outlet in Velachery at the Phoenix Market City Mall.

The brand, which prices its footwear in the range of Rs 2,490 – 14,990 is targeting the premium footwear segment in Chennai and plans to expand to over 17 outlets all across India by 2014.

Mohini Binepal, the business head of the retail brand, said that the premium footwear segment in India was “growing at an amazingly fast pace,” making it a lucrative segment for many manufacturers and retailers both in India and across the world to invest in.

With over 240 designs comprising five categories, Binepal said that the brand was aimed at customers belonging to the age group of 25-36 years.

The brand, owned by Sara Suole Pvt Limited, currently has a total of six stores in three major cities — Bangalore, Chennai and Mumbai. Though the brand is less than a year old, Binepal said that response from customers has been overwhelming, and that this has given them an impetus to expand.
