Have a spiritual morning with LIFCO's devotional CDs

LIFCO Publishing House marked its entry into the Audio CD market with the launch of 30 spiritual audio CDs as a tribute to its founder, V Krishnaswami Sarma, at the GRT Convention Hall, recently.

The CDs, which range across tracks of daily slokas to Sri Lalitha Sahasranamam, were an effort towards lifting the spirits of our world, said T N C Vijayasarathy, chairman of LIFCO. “We have also priced the CDs in such a way that they are affordable for everyone,” he added. Prominent among those who attended the launch ceremony were Padma Vibhushan M Balamuralikrishna, Padma Bhushan awardee and eminent Bharatanatyam artiste Padma Subramaniam, Padma Shri Sudha Raghunathan, V R Iyer, chairman and managing director of Bank of India, N Murali, president of the Music Academy and actor-orator Sivakumar.

Making her tribute to the founder of LIFCO, Nithyasree Mahadevan, a prominent carnatic artiste, said, “He was truly a multi-faceted person. His farsightedness and vision in establishing the publishing house is legendary.”

Padma Subramaniam said that it was impossible to find someone in Tamil Nadu who hadn’t come across the LIFCO dictionary in some stage of their lives. “It is a truly an exhaustive complilation,” she asserted.

Murali said that V K Sarma’s vision in making the LIFCO publications affordable to all was one of the greatest services the house had done to the community. And its standards were and are second to none, he said.

G Rajendran, chairman, GRT Group, columnist S Gurumurthy, J S N Murthy, Vice Chancellor of Sri Ramachandra University, V Rama Subbu, Editor of Dinamalar, Trichy, S Muthukumar, Editor of Makkal Kural and Trinity Mirror Dailies and G Narayanaswamy, senior chartered accountant, were some of the other important guests present.
