Graduation Day at K M Muthiah College

As many as 235 students received their degrees during the fourteenth graduation day of the Kumararani Meena Muthiah College for Arts and Science, recently. Among them, there were 10 post graduate students as well.

Releasing the annual report of the college, principal Dr P T Vijayasree listed the various events of the college and the achievements of students in various curricular and co-curricular activities.

She added that the participation of the students in research activities had undergone a significant increase last year. “Students of the NSS unit of the college too have participated in various events and won laurels for the college,” she said. Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest, Dr Chandrakantha Jayabalan, Vice-Chancellor of the Tamil Nadu Open University, urged them to exercise caution, in what can be the most productive period of their careers, while lauding the students for making it to this level.

“Updating skills is paramount to graduates of today, especially in the e-age,” she said. “Today’s graduates, to make a difference to the nation, must possess these three qualities,” she added. She related the life history of Helen Keller, who made a difference by surmounting a host of challenges.
