Katju's Words Not Based on Facts: MK

Express News Service

CHENNAI: The war of words between DMK patriarch M Karunanidhi and retired Supreme Court judge Markandey Katju continued on Thursday, with the nonagenarian leader saying that Katju should have checked his facts before levelling serious allegations at him. Responded to Katju’s jibe a day earlier over his family’s wealth, the wily old man said his assets were a matter of public record and that he owned nothing but a house in Chennai’s Gopalapuram area.

“I have been a Chief Minister five times. Every time I have fought an election, I have declared my assets.

All I own is a street house in Gopalapuram. After my time, and my wife’s, I have willed that house to a trust. All of this is there for Katju to see,” said Karunanidhi, in an interview to Murasoli, his party’s mouthpiece.
