CHENNAI:  Aashika Treesa Saju of Sishya School, Chennai topped the State with 98 per cent marks in the Indian School Certificate Examinations (ISCE) Class XII Boards, results for which were announced on Saturday. Sujith Mathew John of Ida Scudder School, Vellore came second with 97.75 per cent. There were no national toppers in the State.

The overall pass percentage in Tamil Nadu was 99.46, which was much better than the national average of 95.27. In all, 556 students from 23 schools wrote their ISCE this year in Tamil Nadu. This includes 280 girls and 276 boys. Girls recorded a higher pass percentage of 99.64 per cent.

Though the results were expected to be out by 3 pm, students struggled to access the official website cisce.org.in as it crashed. “Our official website has shut down. The software companies are still working on it at our headquarters. It is still uncertain when we will be able to revive the system,” said Gerry Arathoon, Chief Executive and Secretary of the ISCE. He said that the organisation was trying to e-mail results individually to each school.
