Anti-tobacco Awareness Rally Held

CHENNAI: Dr  MGR Educational and Research Institute, University organised an anti-tobacco campaign recently. The campaign was spearheaded by the faculty from the department of  Management Studies.

This initiative was supported by  faculty from the other departments as well. The entire campaign was aimed at creating awareness among the public about the irreparable damage caused by the usage of tobacco in various forms, which has increased. A rally comprising several four wheelers took out a rally around Vellore, Chennai and Puducherry along the way and the volunteers in the rally handed out pamphlets in strategic points. In select spots the caravan  also engaged the public through Q & A sessions. According to the university, over 1, 00,000 people were educated on the evils of usage of tobacco and this  campaign will be one of the several initiatives to curb and totally annihilate the usage of tobacco.
